LOST PIECES

haven't really done many pieces lately
what with all the preparations for the end of high school
i was accepted to the florida school of the arts and will be enrolling in their graphic design program next fall
here are some pieces that have been done for a while, but never got a chance to be uploaded
the first two are from this year
the latter two are really old
i'm also about a third of the way through my current journal
the furthest i've ever gotten in one
i'll do a sketch dump whenever i get around to scanning

first one is a drawing of the mannequin that i won in a stanley kubrick dance party costume contest
my high school art teacher said that its composition was 'sucky'
the other is a commission piece drawn from life
also, i just got my acceptance letter from SCAD

so i finally got around to seeing jazzmyn, who was home for the holidays
we screwed around painting aimlessly for a few hours
i was fiddling with pen and ink
anyway, i whipped up this little doodle and realized that every time i start out emulating steadman, it comes out all dark and gothy
from all the splotchety excess black
anyway, we noticed that if you turned it sideways, it looked like a crazy monster crab
it's easier to see the crab if you try to imaginge the face isn't there
i might try to refine it into some kind of monster

i've sent off applications to the florida school of the arts and the savannah college of art & design
the only way i'd be able to go to SCAD right off would be if i could get a massive scholarship to soften the 30k tuition
so i'll send in my portfolio eventually in the hopes of getting one
i'll most likely be going to flo-arts
i have an admissions portfolio review in february
hopefully all that will go down well

these are a couple of ink/watercolor experiments that i've toyed with in class recently
the first is a fairly accurate self portrait
the other is a picture of me laughing contemptuously at a stupid girl from high school
because my maturity knows no bounds
